I have been investing for 16 years, with the last eight focused on stock trading. I mostly have long positions, although will occasionally trade over the short term. I am self taught and use writing analyses to help others understand why positions in a company would be good or bad, but mostly for my own education and investing purposes. My style is informational with respect to why a company looks good going forward, but I try to include current trends with respect to the specific chart and derive an estimate price with respect to my estimated growth and current PE ratio. I have been writing for theupdown.com for about a year now, and through this have developed a style that works quite well with respect to stocks over the long term. My current investments are currently long POT, RIG, IPI, MON, and CHK. I also have retirement accounts that are long overseas markets with moderate positions in emerging markets.
