  • Oil: Slippery Road Ahead
Since USO is now above $97 I assume you are short and I suspect it will be a short term position.

  • Crude Oil: Congress Acts, Iran Hoards, RTX Soars
My father bought a VW in 1956 and was delighted that he could drive it for a penny a mile, which would be eight cents today. I drive my Camry Hybrid for about ten cents a mile and believe me that car is like a Rolls compared to the 56 VW. Gasoline is not expensive!

  • Gold and Oil Price Limits
Interesting article and reader's comments. The fact that were suffering from a lack of planning begs the question, where in our history or in nature itself do you find planning. Every species continues doing the same thing until it cant. I see people flogging their SUVs down the fast lane, but at some price gasoline-per-gallon they too will change. I completely agree, "it's going to be a long and painful process."

  • Oil to $200? Fundamentals Don't Support It
JREwing makes some accurate observations but it is too bad he has convinced himself that this is a left vs. right subject, especially when you consider that it was the current administrations middle east blundering (along with a half dozen other blunders) that got us were we are today. Hey drop some bombs on Iran and watch how $200 will look like the good old day.

  • How Much Worse Can It Get For Oil?
All I know is that I'm making enough money from USO to drive my hybrid around the world - several times! And that's after it covers my green energy losses. Who's to blame - the pusher or the addict? I figure it's symbiotic, or codependent.

  • Oil Pricing: Upside Risks and Downside Drivers
"The price is up until it starts to go down!" Hey with insight like that you could get a job as a TV pundit because that is essentially what their insight comes down to. What oil is going to do in the next 6 months is anyones guess but what it's going to do in the next 6 years is as obvious as that Escalade I just saw roaring by.

  • Is OPEC Killing Itself?
Sound like a lot of whistling in the dark to me. But then isn't that how addicts always deal with their destructive habits?

  • Commodity Forecasters See Prices Declining
I have a hard time separating such forecasts from the wishful thinking of consumers. Is the world going to use less oil in three years or are discoveries going to increase significantly or are alternatives going to supplant crude? I’ve seen other forecasters come up a $500 barrel in 2012. One thing is certain, there making more consumers, not more commodities.
