Repricing Employee Stock Options: Disingenuous and Disrespectful
Although repricing options is troubling to say the least, there is a real issue with retaining key employees. For those employees who can get a job offer with new low-priced options at another company, what can current management do to retain the employee? Repricing options would clearly help level the playing field.

Maybe repricing needs to be done more selectively, and perhaps not at all for executives.

Husband-Wife Manager Team Favors Low-Cost Indexing Approach
Nice article. Sounds like a very sensible investment approach. I will look for the Swenson book.

There is a PIMCO research paper that argues for the reward/risk value of commodities in a diversified portfolio. What do you think of that?

      Why Not a Transaction Tax?
Many of these comments are typical of the majority of voters. Why enact any tax to pay for something, when you can borrow instead! Taxes bad, borrowing good!

Wait, didn't borrowing have something to do with the crisis we're currently in?

Bailout Should Be A Windfall For Taxpayers - Barron's
Why won't the mortgage holders just sell the govt the $200B that is "actual subprime junk" and hang onto the performing stuff? Then the government will be buying assets worth 0.05 for 0.25 !

      Stock vs. Bond Valuations
Why is the ratio of 1.0 "fairly valued"? Shouldn't equities have a higher earnings yield (equity risk premium) due to their volatility?

And shouldn't you be comparing real yields (less inflation)?

It's "only" $31k for every man, woman, and child.
But since many Americans have no resources to pay, the real share for those who pay most of the taxes must be over $100k.

      AAII Bearish Reading Above 50%
I always wonder how valid the AAII poll is. It's a self-selecting poll. Only those so motivated to go to the web page respond. It's not like they go out and poll a random sample of individual investors.
