      the flying pigs have golden wings.

      Foreign, meant Asian currencies are being devalued. They have external obligations to meet but this time around, the Asian Contagion will be the Sale of Dollars to strengthen their own currencies.

      Sales will start in ernest if the "so called" flight to safety aka Western Intervention persists.

      But they would sell dollars, it would devalue their holdings. If their currencies are at risk, self preservation will kick in. A strong dollar means weak all other currencies and a commensurate rise in their inflation.       Oct 07 08:44 AM

      Oil holds again, a double bottom is in place for now.

      The Biggest Saudi field is being pressurized to keep output at present levels. Oil output from old, 1960s fields, has increasing amounts of water mixed in, only modern day exotic tech has been able to keep them pumping while they search for more oil.

      While they have no control over higher prices, output increases are being met with internal demand + external demand, they will gladly decrease output to save it for higher price levels.       Oct 07 08:32 AM

      Don't forget about the Mileage Credits Car makers used for years to make it look like they were meeting Mileage Standards. Or similar Carbon credits sold in the 70's which were bought by Coal Plants as they spewed CO2 into the air but met environmental standards. Oct 06 12:39 PM

      Don't forget that their operation is highly carbon intensive, the environmental cleanup has yet to be started and they use Nat. Gas to extract oil.

      Geothermal, utility play, CPN 1/3 of electricity is from Geo, emerged from bankruptcy with virtually no debt. Will be able to sell carbon credits for added income.

      Mid-October maybe, $15 or below maybe. Forced selling in everything inflation related is destroying this as well as others.

      A better play would be Haliburton in the Middle East where they still have money to spend.

      when does it become a buy then? You have all of these compelling reasons but do not recommend it.

      Why bother to bring it to my attention if you neither own nor recommend its purchase? At what level would you buy it?

      IMHO, when the yield approaches 20%, I would consider its purchase, not before. There are enough trusts already yielding that much for me to bother with a stock that yields 11% and which may suspend the entire dividend when the CanRoy Law becomes effective in 2011 suspending their current status.       My only question is how much downside are you willing to take in either stock before you decide to sell? The reason I ask: you won't come back to inform us that you no longer hold these stocks..
